National Service Scheme (NSS)
National Service Scheme (NSS) has been introduced at Savitribai Phule Pune University since 1969 as a part of the academic programs which is implemented by institute. The objective of the scheme is along with education, service to the community NSS is a student-canteric program in which projects are implemented by the volunteers along with the community and thereby it provides platform for the student's interaction with the people.
They adopt nearby village for organising camps. NSS volunteers during the camps learn the bond of patriotism, national integration, brotherhood, communal harmony. The NSS has three units consisting of 250 volunteers and 3 Program Officers.

- Village survey: Socio-economic and health
- Road Repairing
- Gram Swachchhata
- Tree Plantation
- Watershed Management work (Vanrai Bandhare)
