  4.2    Library as a Learning Resource

Dr.Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Central Library (Knowledge Resource Centre) is fully automated. We are using Libreria software for Library automation which is designed and developed by MKCL. Barcode Technology is used for book circulation. Web OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) is available at http://libreria.org.in/DPMLibkarjat/. Users can search books by using Field search, Boolean Search, Truncation Search, and wild card search. This facility is available 24*7*365 days.

Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Central Library website https://karmaveerlibrary.wordpress.com/ has been developed by Librarian. It provides information relevant to academics WEB OPAC,  syllabus, a question bank, e-journals, e-books, National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST) UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium, INFLIBNET, open educational resources, like NPTEL The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL)(http://nptel.ac.in/)  NME-ICT, National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT) PGPathashala, Sakshat portal.

E-Journals

National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST)” is a program funded by MHRD extends to selected e-resources to colleges covered under 2F/ 12B ACT of UGC. The project is executed by (Information Library Network) INFLIBNET Ahmadabad. Every  college has to pay an annual subscription of Rs 5750/-  N- list members can access 6000+ E-Journals and 31,35000E- Books

The Project entitled “National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST)”, being jointly executed by the UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium, INFLIBNET Centre, and the INDEST-AICTE Consortium, IIT Delhi provides for i) cross-subscription to e-resources subscribed by the two Consortia, i.e. subscription to INDEST-AICTE resources for universities and UGCINFONET resources for technical institutions; and ii) access to selected e-resources to colleges. The N-LIST project provides access to e-resources to students, researchers, and faculty from colleges and other beneficiary institutions through server(s) installed at the INFLIBNET Centre. The authorized users from colleges can now access e-resources and download articles required by them directly from the publisher’s website once they are duly authenticated as authorized users through servers deployed at the INFLIBNET Centre.

ROLE OF INFLIBNET:

To subscribe and provide access to selected e-resources to 6,000 Govt./ Govt.-aided colleges and monitor their usage

To act as a Monitoring Agency for colleges and evaluate, promote, impart training and monitor all activities involved in the process of providing effective and efficient access to e-resources to colleges.

The INFLIBNET Centre is also responsible for developing and deploying appropriate software tools and techniques for authenticating authorized users.
